Week of November 10

Last Thursday, we welcomed back the Class of 2025 and their families for the annual Prestige Awards. The reception in the Learning Commons set a warm tone for the night. Graduates reunited with classmates, reconnected with teachers, and shared fond memories while flipping through the pages of their yearbooks.

The celebration continued in the Bahadur C. Bhatla Theatre, where Michael O’Connor, Head of School, and Dani Jansen, High School Coordinator of Teaching and Learning, presented this year’s awards recognizing academic achievement and leadership. Congratulations to Sarah Elman, who received the Governor General’s Academic Medal, to Elizabeth Brandman, who received the Birks Medal, and to all of this year’s St. George’s Scholars.

The Head’s List Award is a distinction that recognizes a student’s pursuit of learning, exemplary leadership, respectful demeanor, and strong work ethic. Bravo to Zoe Burgos Adair, Kirit Hardman, Simran Jagpal, and Amit Koren. The Certificat de Bilinguisme went to Anahita Bagheri, Leo Baron, Matthis Etheve, and Elliot Gibbons. These students earned the credits associated with Secondary V English Language Arts and Français, langue d’enseignement. In recognition of their bilingual proficiency, they are now exempt from the language examinations required for entry into Québec’s professional orders.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the planning and execution of this event. To our young alumni, it was an honour to celebrate you and witness your ongoing connection to this community

Students Reflect on Remembrance Day

This week, we honoured those who served and sacrificed during our Remembrance Day assemblies at both campuses. Together, we paused for silence and reflected on peace and gratitude.

At the Elementary School, students shared Recettes de la paix—“recipes for peace”—and spoke about how peace can show up in everyday acts of kindness, inclusion, and understanding. At the High School, students listened as Ms. Jansen shared a story about her classmate from her youth in the Canadian Armed Forces who fell while serving in Afghanistan. She invited them to reflect on loss, memory, and what it means to carry these stories forward with empathy and respect. #LestWeForget

Annual General Meeting

This week’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) brought together parents, Board members, and school leadership to review the past year and look ahead. Parents exercised their voting rights and reappointed members of the Board of Directors.

The AGM offers families an opportunity to participate in the governance of the school and support its long-term vision. Thank you to all who took the time to engage in this important work. Your partnership continues to strengthen our community.
