What do you get when you combine friendly competition, great food, and a community that shows up for its students? The Big Dill, a pickleball fundraiser for Scholarships and Bursaries, held at Le Deuce Club on April 14.
Located near the Royalmount district, Le Deuce Club is a new padel and pickleball club offering players not just nice new courts to play on, but a social hub to connect and socialize. The space features bright, pro-level courts built for players of all skill levels. Throughout the evening, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff hit the courts for fast-paced games while enjoying the fun social atmosphere that included food, drinks, and a raffle raising funds for Scholarships and Bursaries.
Rallying for Our Students
The event raised more than funds; it brought us together for a shared purpose. Thanks to the collective generosity of players, sponsors, and donors, we raised more than $22,000 for the Scholarships and Bursaries Fund. These vital funds help make a St. George’s education accessible to more students and families who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

As the School looks ahead toward its Centennial in 2030, fundraising for the Scholarships and Bursaries Fund will continue to be an important priority and opportunity for growth. It’s an investment in the type of community we want to continue building together. A diverse student body strengthens our classrooms, our relationships, and the experience of every student who comes through our doors.
A Full Court Community Mingle
The event brought Elementary and High School families together with parents, alumni, faculty, and staff pairing up for friendly doubles matches throughout the evening. Between games, conversations continued over fresh salads from event sponsor Mandy’s, founded by alumni Mandy ’94 and Rebecca ’99 Wolfe, and oysters shucked and served by Daniel Notkin ’91 of Notkin’s Oyster Bar and Le 9e.
“As a proud St. George’s parent and Chair of Advancement, it’s so meaningful to support our school and connect with other parents for such a fun and important event.”
— Monica Wizinski

With Gratitude to Our Donors and Sponsors
The success of the evening was made possible by the generous support of our community partners.
Special thanks to our Centre Court Sponsors, Rachel and Steven Kramer and Family, for helping bring this event to life.
We also recognize our Court Sponsors: Brenda Metzen and Greg Adourian, The Corkum Family, and Reliance.
We also thank former Board Chairs Brenda Metzen and Jason Levine for their participation and for their generous donation, which covered the faculty’s participation fees.
Romeo’s Gin and Peroni Nastro Azzuro kept refreshments flowing throughout the evening, while Le 9e and Notkin’s Oyster Bar helped make the event a really big dill.
Our raffle donors contributed more than $4,500 in prizes, including ALDO, Jonathan Creations, Sumac, 3 Amigos, Ciel Athletics, Mano Cornuto, Joie de Livres, Salon Mods, RYU, Drawn & Quarterly, Capisco, Jess Robertson, Praise, Modus Pilates, Mezcla, and De Still.
Finally, thank you to the team at Le Deuce Club for creating such a welcoming setting.
