A Fireside Chat with Jade Raymond ’92
We were honoured to welcome back Entrepreneur and Tech Leader Jade Raymond ’92 for an engaging fireside chat with our Grades 10, 11, and 12 students. Hosted by St. George’s parent and President of ThinkersOne, Mitch Joel, the discussion explored Jade’s journey from our halls to leading global teams at Ubisoft, Google, and Sony.
In addition to sharing her professional wisdom, Jade’s visit celebrated her commitment to the school through a perpetual, needs-based scholarship she established to ensure access and opportunity for future Dragons.

Dragons’ Den: Entrepreneurship in Action
For six years and counting, the Grade 6 Dragons’ Den project, led by Grade 6 English & Math Teacher Jill De Jean, has challenged students to develop sustainable, community-focused businesses, stepping into roles as marketers, designers, and accountants. This year, Grade 6 students conducted market research, managed fictional startup budgets, and ultimately pitched their prototypes and business plans to a panel of four “Dragons.”
“I discovered a lot about how to communicate with people. In making a business, I learned to be more cooperative with my team, choosing to say ‘I really like this’ instead of ‘this is not good’ to reach our deadlines.”
— Olivia L., Grade 6
Our panel of experts, Head of School Michael O’Connor, High School Teacher Luke Welton, Elementary School Art Teacher Zenia Dusaniwsky, and Elementary School Principal Aidan De Jean, assessed each team’s proposal, asking tough questions and providing valuable business feedback. The experience went beyond the excitement of the pitch, offering students a deep dive into the realities of investment and entrepreneurship.
“The students presented with confidence, and the projects had real-world applicability. I was impressed with their ability to answer questions articulately on the fly.”
— Zenia Dusaniwsky, Elementary School Art Teacher

Touchdowns and Teamwork: Alouettes Visit
As part of Black History Month, Elementary School students received an inspiring visit from Montreal Alouettes players Nick Callender, Tyson Philpot, and Arthur Hamlin. The players shared relatable stories about perseverance, sportsmanship, and the importance of being a team player, even when facing a loss or injury.
“I wanted our students to understand that even professional athletes deal with the same emotions everyone does when they experience something difficult. Our students’ follow-up questions and reflections, even from our youngest students, spoke to determination and leadership, and they were able to make connections to their own lives and experiences.”
— Rosetta Cammalleri, ES Physical Education Support & Library

“Sock-er” Success for Advocacy Montreal
Did you know that socks are one of the most needed, but least donated, items to shelters? In the winter months, the need for clean, dry footwear is critical for community members in need. This month, our High School community stepped up for The Breakfast Club’s “Sock-er” drive to support Advocacy Montreal, an organization that helps the unhoused population in our city.
With a significant increase in participation from last year, our students collected over 885 pairs of socks and 12 pairs of boots. The drive culminated in a spirited “sock-er” cornhole contest, where Grade 8 triumphed as champions and Grade 9 followed as close runners-up. Thank you to everyone who contributed to spreading warmth and kindness this season.

A Magical Night on the Ice
Just before March Break, our Elementary School community gathered for an evening of skating, hot chocolate, and togetherness. Skate Night provided a rich opportunity to celebrate our skating programme and connect as a community.
“Skate Night was a rich opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate our skating program and connect. A heartfelt thank you to all of our parent volunteers and a special shoutout to Mike Hittleman and MJ Blais for their dedication.”
— Aidan De Jean, Elementary School Principal

Celebrating School Spirit
A long-time tradition, Spirit Week, is dedicated to celebrating our shared Dragon pride. From the cozy comfort of Pyjama Day to a variety of themed activities that packed the week with laughter, students and staff embraced the opportunity to have fun together.
