Just a few weeks into the school year and our community is buzzing with activity. Between sports team tryouts, a Welcome BBQ, The Terry Fox Run and the usual settling-in that comes with new classes and new faces, there’s been a lot to share together. Here’s what our community has been up to so far.

Leadership in the Orchard
Our Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 5 students spent the morning at Méli-Mélo last week, picking apples under a clear fall sky. It’s the kind of simple outing children remember: crisp air, sun on their faces, and the pleasure of being outside together.
As part of their leadership goals, our Grade 5s spent the day looking out for the Grade 2s: helping them reach higher branches, showing them how to tell a ripe apple from one that needs another week on the tree, and providing tips as students who’ve experienced it before.
A Safer Campus
St. George’s School of Montreal has received a grant from the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Overseas Schools. This support was made possible through close collaboration with the Regional Security Office at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal, whose partnership was instrumental in securing it. The funding will go toward enhancements to our campus infrastructure, helping us maintain a secure and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and families.

It Takes a Community
Last Friday, the High School campus turned into a carnival for the afternoon. Students faced off in a bouncy castle race, the popcorn machine ran nonstop, and members of the Leadership Team manned the barbecue station. None of this could have happened without our incredible parent volunteers, who spent the afternoon running booths and games. Thank you for showing up the way you always do.

Running With Purpose
The whole Elementary School spilled outside on the field together, students and staff side by side in anticipation for The Terry Fox Annual Run. Students wore “I Am Running For…” stickers having written the name of someone they wanted to honour. Ms. Flaherty and Mr. Shultz addressed the crowd about the importance of the day, they were off running and walking under the fall sky.
