St. George’s School of Montreal Class of 2020 Reunion

In 2020, our graduates marked the end of their St. George’s journey with an outdoor ceremony, standing eight feet apart and without the traditional dance. That day, Head of School Michael O’Connor promised the class that their celebration would come. Last week, the Class of 2020 returned for their long-awaited five-year reunion, joined by faculty, staff, and administration to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate together.

Reconnecting and Celebrating

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, the Class of 2020 returned to St. George’s for their five-year reunion. This long-awaited celebration brought alumni, faculty, and staff together on campus to reconnect, share memories, and reflect on the resilience that defined their graduating year.

Head of School Michael O’Connor opened the evening by acknowledging the unique challenges this class faced.

The highlight of the evening came on the front steps, where St. George’s alumni tossed their graduation caps into the air, five years after their official ceremony. The moment, filled with cheers and smiles, closed a chapter and underscored the resilience of this Montreal private school community.

Resilience Remembered

A special moment was a visit to the new Learning Commons. Re-opened in September 2023, this donor-funded project was kicked off by the Class of 2020’s Grad Gift Campaign. This cohort of families was the catalyst to raising the funds needed to realize this innovative learning space for students.

“Thanks to your families and the experience you had at St. George’s,” O’Connor noted, “generations of students will benefit from the vision you helped set in motion.”

Beyond reminiscing, the evening highlighted the diverse journeys of St. George’s graduates. Members of the Class of 2020 have gone on to university studies, graduate programs, and early careers in fields such as environmental science, entertainment, and finance.

The community spirit was palpable; we saw alumni reconnecting with each other and their former faculty and staff who supported them along the way. The Class of 2020 reunion was more than a gathering, it was a reflection of the resilience, community, and forward-thinking spirit that defines St. George’s School of Montreal.

“The Class of 2020 showed us all what it means to be part of the St. George’s community: resilient in the face of challenges, generous in spirit, and forever connected,”  Michael O’Connor, Head of School
