A Message from Michael O'Connor, Head of School

Connections

As we conclude another academic year, I am pleased to carry on the tradition of looking back and reflecting on the experiences and accomplishments that have made the year so special. In doing so, it is clear to me that the standout in 2024/2025 has been our tremendous community spirit.

The active involvement of our parents and families has been both inspiring and motivating to those of us on the St. George’s team who are committed to providing an engaging environment in which your children have a sense of purpose and belonging. The support and participation of our families help us to guide our students in their social, emotional and academic growth.

This partnership between home and school is essential to their success. By strengthening the bonds and building the social connectedness with our school community, we uphold and advance St. George’s founding principles and core values.  Over the course of the year, you welcomed the various invitations to participate, and wholeheartedly seized the opportunity to engage.  In all their forms, your contributions were substantial and impactful.

When participating in Meet & Greets, Parent Breakfast Meetings, Curriculum Night, or one-on-one conversations, the constructive dialogue and feedback from the parent perspective was valuable, and communication was always sincere and mutually respectful.

When attending family events, such Bike Fest, Community Skate Night, Student vs. Parent Hockey, Grade Parent Cocktail Parties, and Open House, the interactions were genuine. You demonstrated a real fondness for one another and interest in your roles as members of this community.

When supporting our curricular and co-curricular activities, including the Sight & Sound Celebration, King of the Hill Robotics, Glee, Kindergarten Cultural Visits, Elementary School Celebration of Learning, St. George's Athletics, Elementary School & High School Concerts, Earth Day, and Awards Ceremonies, turnout was strong and acknowledgment of the efforts and accomplishments was always genuine and enthusiastic.

And when volunteering in parent-based initiatives, such as Elementary School & High School Carnivals, Industry Experts, Guest Speakers, Professional Development, Alumni Assemblies, and Faculty & Staff Appreciation, your energy and excitement was surpassed only by your dedication and generosity.

These are but some of the many ways in which this exceptional community has contributed to a successful school year, inspiring all of us to thrive as our authentic selves within this vibrant and welcoming environment. I deeply appreciate that we are united by a strong and common bond, and a commitment that will lead St. George’s into a bright future. Thank you!

Congratulations to our students on a remarkable year, and best wishes to all for a wonderful summer.
