WELCOME TO

THE BLVD.

Your pathway to meaningful distance learning that is uniquely St. George's

At the core of St. George’s approach to distance learning is the belief that we should always embrace new opportunities for students to learn in authentic, meaningful ways.

This explains why we looked past the more traditional online learning models and chose distance learning to encourage the greater engagement of our students as our main priority. Using the term “distance learning” rather than technology-specific labels such as “virtual learning” or “online classes” reflects an intentional choice stemming from our conviction that quality learning can occur at a distance without solely relying on computers.

Our distance learning model is based on an understanding of cognitive development. The learning experiences teachers design when school is in regular session cannot be simply replicated through distance learning. The Blvd., our meaningful distance learning model, invokes the St. George’s approach to teaching and learning to further foster collaboration, creativity, and connection. The virtual, or online aspect of this process, is merely the means or the conduit of transmission.

Since 1930, our Six Founding Principles have been a vital driver of our progressive teaching and learning practices at St. George’s, where the whole child—intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially—is always our top priority, whether on campus or at a distance.

THANK YOU TO OUR INCOMPARABLE EDUCATORS AND STAFF FOR CONTINUING TO DELIVER ON THE ST. G’S PROMISE OF MEANINGFUL EDUCATION EVERY DAY.

WE APPRECIATE OUR ST. G’S FAMILIES AND YOUR FEEDBACK!

“I am grateful for the kindness and respect you are showing our son and his peers during this time. You are demonstrating flexibility and resilience in how positively you are moving from in-person to distance class. That alone is a very important, real-life example for the St. George’s students—both for today and as future leaders!”

“Having spoken with many friends with kids the same age, it has made me appreciate how fantastic St. G’s has been in pulling the distance learning together. It’s not just the content but also the face to face time with teachers and students, spending the school day together. It is very good for keeping our son happy and mentally stable at a time when he is isolated from his usual routine.”

“Our daughter feels very connected to her learning and is provided with a perfect balance of schoolwork and connection to her teachers. As a parent, I am very impressed with the program you have established. Bravo!”

“The program implemented makes my son feel very motivated during the entire week. He looks forward to meeting his teachers and classmates. The personal, warm, ‘casual’, and engaging environment that his teachers and advisors are still effectively providing using online tools is very much appreciated; my son feels comfortable, at ease and very happy.”

“[The teachers] keep the children involved and connected… [They] are natural talents as YouTubers and keep our whole family fit and creative. A real treat to have such a team of teachers.”

“Our daughter is working extremely well and is highly motivated by the work she is given. It helps to have a constant in her life without going to school and being with her friends. The whole program is great and the teachers are doing a fantastic job!”

“St. G’s has made great use of technology to provide a really effective and engaging learning platform.”

“This is making a big difference in these difficult times.”
