ELEMENTARY STUDENTS PUT ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT
IN ACTION
This year, the Elementary campus theme is “Respect in Action”, and all members of the St. George’s community are putting this ideal into practice. Each noted respectful action is rewarded with a “Circle of Respect” certificate, which then becomes part of a chain that runs through the school halls.
“Central to the concept of respect is the respect we must all show for the environment,” notes Tim Peters, Assistant Head, Elementary. Starting in December, and running through Earth Day in April, children have been given the opportunity to truly learn respect through practical application and have monthly objectives to earn Carbon Credits for Climate Change (CC4CC). As a member of the “Million Acts of Green” pledge, St. George’s tallies up the CC4CC our students have earned every month. In our first month alone, St. George’s students saved over 16,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions from entering into our atmosphere!
