Recent Professional Development include:

• Twice a year consultation with a world-renowned Math and Science consultant who is helping our teachers shape our Math/Science curriculum in a way most conducive to students’ learning. Language Arts, Second Language and Social Studies and specialist teachers have also benefited from experts in the field of how best to teach students.

The recent purchase and implementation of Atlas Rubicon, an electronic curriculum mapping software that allows our teachers to fine tune our entire school curriculum map. By aligning key concepts and their associated skills and content knowledge, through the use of this software, we can avoid gaps and the repetition. Furthermore, this program provides

A yearly commitment to send a group of 3 to 4 teachers to The Summer Institute for Academic Diversity in Virginia. This program is one of the most respected, challenging and cohesive professional development opportunities available to teachers today.

The hosting of a two-day St. George’s Summer Institute program for new and recently-hired teachers to build up their knowledge of our pedagogy approach and teaching practices so that they internalize the “St. George’s Method” and integrate well with our existing professional teaching faculty.
